The occupant of this position will provide high level scientific, technical and regulatory policy support to the Gene Technology Regulator.Key ResponsibilitiesLead regulatory specialist teams that evaluate technical data and conduct risk assessments for applications in relation to dealings with genetically modified organisms.Demonstrate leadership within the team contributing to team performance, productivity and accountability for outcomes.Contribute to the development of strategic regulatory and scientific advice regarding the regulation of gene technology and genetically modified organisms.Represent the OGTR in discussions with other government and non-government agencies, industry, consumer and community organisations, scientific fora and the public.Operate delegated authority appropriately and effectively within the Gene Technology Act 2000.Oversee the preparation of high-quality assessment reports, discussion papers, committee agenda papers, guidelines and other documents relevant to the work of the OGTR.Contribute to the OGTR Executive and Branch/Division operations and planning and the development of people capability.
