Position: The Executive Director, Distribution and Support Services is responsible for developing and overseeing the distribution strategies and operational support needed to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of Annexon Biosciences' therapies.
This role will manage partnerships with distribution and channel providers, optimize logistics, and ensure alignment with the company's commercial, market access, and patient support goals.
The Executive Director will play a key role in ensuring seamless product availability and patient access, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities include: Lead the development and execution of distribution and channel strategies to ensure timely, compliant, and efficient delivery of products to customers and patients.
Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, specialty pharmacies, and other channel partners to ensure optimal product availability and supply chain efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements related to product distribution, including cold chain management and specialty handling protocols.
Collaborate with the Market Access, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment of distribution strategies with broader business objectives.
Lead the implementation of patient and provider support services, ensuring that patients have access to reimbursement assistance, product education, and other needed services.
Oversee the design and management of distribution-related contracts, ensuring favorable terms and effective performance metrics.
Monitor and analyze distribution and channel performance, identifying areas for improvement and driving operational efficiencies.
Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure distribution channels support product launch and ongoing commercialization efforts.
Lead efforts to optimize inventory management and forecasting, ensuring adequate supply across all distribution channels.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between internal stakeholders and external partners to address any challenges in the supply chain or product distribution process.
Education, Experience, and Skills: Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech distribution, supply chain, or channel management.
Proven leadership experience managing complex distribution networks and third-party partnerships.
Strong understanding of specialty pharmaceutical distribution, including cold chain management, specialty pharmacy networks, and reimbursement support services.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and cross-functional teams.
Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical distribution and compliance with FDA, DEA, and other relevant authorities.
Preferred: An MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience with rare diseases, biologics, or other specialty therapeutics.
Knowledge of innovative distribution models, including direct-to-patient and hub services.
Salary Range: $249,000 to $300,000 Benefits: A stimulating and rewarding workplace includes flexible work schedules, remote opportunities and the ability to achieve a work-life balance.
We are located in Brisbane, CA, with shuttle service from BART, Cal Train and the Ferry.
