Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee operations, financial planning, and service development, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and Council policies.You will support service teams in delivering key social services, including Environmental Health, Housing, Health & Wellbeing, and Aged Care Support. You will also develop systems to monitor community needs, lead strategic partnerships, and source new funding to enhance service delivery. Collaborating with other Council departments and external agencies to achieve strategic goals and advocating for TSIRC services will be crucial aspects of this role.We seek candidates with a graduate qualification in business administration, law, human resources, or a related discipline, and at least 8 years' senior management experience in local government or public service. Superior communication, consultative, and negotiating skills, along with high levels of personal integrity and ethics, are essential. Strong leadership and team management capabilities are vital for this role.This is a maximum term, full-time position for 3 years, with a possible extension. You can be based in any TSIRC divisional office or Cairns, with regular travel to the Torres Strait Islands.
