Their facilities include Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital, GP Plus Health Care Centres, Mental Health services and Sub-acute services including the Repat site.In collaboration with Aboriginal people, SALHN aims to maximise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patient outcomes through innovative patient care, supporting the delivery of health service that meet the needs of the community.The OpportunityReporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership including advice on culture and policy strategies relating to Aboriginal Health and wellbeing. A key focus of the role is to help transform our services in order to improve the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities in the Southern Adelaide region.You will be an integral part of a respectful working partnership with key stakeholders including the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, clinical staff and members of the community. Bring your passion and work with us on prioritising and contributing to strategies aimed at reducing the health gap through better coordination and integration across all services and facilities.To be successful in this role you will have:Previous significant Executive leadership/management experience in a substantial and complex public or private sector environmentEffective practical application of knowledge of the social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal peoples, families and communitiesDemonstrated experience in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of health policy and service planning with the capacity to encourage and include diverse perspectives in the development of priorities, policies and strategiesDemonstrated commitment to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes and ability to lead the workforce in a culturally safe and respectful wayThe ability to translate change initiatives and priorities into practical strategies which address emerging challenges and risksDemonstrated high-level written communication skills, including the ability to develop comprehensive strategic documents and communications to key stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources effectively and efficiently to ensure budget and performance targets are met.About YouAs the Executive Director, Aboriginal Health, you will lead with passion and purpose, driving initiatives to elevate the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities in the Southern Adelaide region. You will be responsible for driving operational and clinical excellence and maintaining commercial viability.With demonstrable experience creating and implementing strategic plans, you will have a proven track record in understanding corporate governance requirements and how to work effectively alongside other Executives, Board Members and critical stakeholders.We are looking for an understanding of contemporary issues facing the sector; as well as understanding the importance of flexibility and adaptability in leadership. You will bring experience and knowledge in creating adaptive plans to work effectively within a changing sector.Ideally you will have:This position is identified for Aboriginal people.
