Our Economic Development and Placemaking (EDP) team are seeking an Events Programming Supervisor to join the Events team.
Purpose: This position is responsible for coordinating the content and creative aspects of the programming, promotion, preparation, planning and implementation of Council's annual calendar of events delivered by the EDP team and working very closely with Council's Communications team. The EDP team are responsible for a diverse range of events which can be complex, high profile and high impact, ranging from large scale community events to Civic ceremonies and small-scale activations.
About the role: Resourcefully implement creative programming for events. Manage the day-today research, planning, execution and evaluation of events with a focus on creative content and programming. Keeping informed of the creative trends and industry innovations in the events, arts, and community sectors to influence the delivery of an innovative and engaging event calendar and provide expert information and advice on programming and creative content. Collaborate with other council departments such as Communications and Web Management teams on the content, creative, collateral and promotional material for events including basic website updates, graphic design requests, scheduling, speech and copy writing, briefings and reporting. About you: Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or relevant field, and/or substantial experience in major/community event production and operations, including planning, implementation and evaluation of events or arts and cultural experiences. A comprehensive knowledge of the arts and entertainment industry, artists, performers and booking agents/agencies. Experience liaising with creatives/talent and communication/publicity teams. A comprehensive understanding of all technical aspects involved in the presentation of events, including but not limited to the provision of sound and lighting equipment, staging, catering and decorations. Employment in this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check with a result of no relevant adverse findings and a current Working with Childrens Check.
