Events and Competitions Coordinator/ManagerProvide project management and coordination of programs organised and promoted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) including the Royal Hobart Show, Royal Hobart Wine Show and Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards.Assist in the coordination of growth of competitions as the Hobart Showground is redeveloped.Manage events and competitions in the lead up to events and during event days.Drive the engagement of young people in Agriculture and Shows by driving the initiatives of Agricultural Shows Australia (ASA) and Tasmanian Agricultural Shows (TAgS) including Emerging Leaders, Young Judges and Paraders and Rural Ambassador and work with other Show Societies to drive these goals.Provide support to the General Manager Operations to ensure all events are managed and run effectively.Who We're Looking ForYou will have demonstrated experience in managing and/or coordinating events and competitions.You will have demonstrated experience in managing volunteers.You will have the ability to coordinate or manage events unsupervised.You will have the ability to deal with difficult customers and delicate issues to ensure success for the event.You will have experience with Agricultural Shows or major events (desirable).You will have experience handling and managing animals (desirable).You will have a Working with Vulnerable People check (or ability to obtain).Please note this role may be hired as a Coordinator or Manager depending on the experience of the candidate and the remuneration and role will be dependent on the candidate.About UsThe Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania (RAST) was established in 1822 and coordinates events including the Royal Hobart Show, Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards and Royal Hobart Show as well as the Hobart Showground Motorhome Park.
The Hobart Showground is currently being redeveloped to ensure the RAST is sustainable for the next 200 years and allow for our major events to be reimagined and developed to engage people and organisations from across Greater Hobart.
