Established in 1959, RM Watson is a remedial construction company operating across Greater Sydney. The company runs upwards of 20 projects concurrently, each of varying size and complexity. Based in Annandale, the team consists of approximately 65 office and site-based employees.
The Role As an Estimator at RM Watson, you will have the opportunity work alongside our wider estimating team, preparing tenders and quotes from $500,000 - $2 million initially (value will increase to larger projects after 6 months) across a variety of complex remedial projects. All while ensuring that these tenders are accurate, submitted on time and within the conditions of the tender.
Role Responsibilities Attend site inspections/tender meetings and record site conditions to determine necessary requirements to prepare tender estimates.Read and interpret project documentation, including specifications, construction & plan drawings and BOQ's.Undertake take-offs to determine material quantities.Preparation of proposed methodology (in collaboration with senior estimators and the operations team), proposed construction program and all other relevant documentation necessary for the tender submission.Develop strong relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, and clients.Prepare and evaluate sub-contractor and supplier tender documentation.Assist in the preparation of tender presentations during the negotiation phase.Lead detailed handover of tender information to the Construction Team prior to project commencement.Qualifications & Skills Required Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Administration, or equivalent related work experience.Experience within a similar estimating role in construction (2 years minimum).Previous experience working in remedial construction desirable.Strong computer literacy skills in estimating software, Excel, Word and Power Point.Strong organisational and management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work to multiple deadlines.We offer Career progression opportunities as our team is expanding.Hybrid working of 1 day a week from home after the first 6 months.Supportive and friendly team culture.Competitive remuneration and annual bonus.On street parking or close to public transport bus route on Parramatta Rd.Driving license required so that you can use onsite company vehicle for site visits.If you have the experience and you are looking for the next step in your career, apply today!
