Your new role Your daily responsibilities will be: Reporting to Estimating manager daily Complete cost estimates for lump sum, design and construct and managing contractor tenders Conduct quantity take-offs by measuring and quantifying materials, labour and equipment required for each element of the project Analyse requirements and price builders' preliminaries including supervision, labour, and site-specific requirements Reviewing project plans, specifications and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements Obtain and review subcontractor quotes for all trade packages ensuring they align with project specifications. Evaluate subcontractors qualifications and capabilities. Prepare detailed cost estimates through a combination of assigning unit costs to quantities and using vetted subcontractor / supplier pricing. Research current market prices for materials and subcontractor services and stay updated on industry trends & price fluctuations Communicate and collaborate with project managers, site managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in cost estimation within the commercial construction industry (2 years preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Estimate One and Cubit / Cost X ProcurePro knowledge is a preference Strong mathematical and analytical abilities for accurately estimating costs, quantities and measurements Complete cost estimates for lump sum, design and construct and managing contractor tenders Conduct quantity take-offs by measuring and quantifying materials, labour and equipment required for each element of the project Analyse requirements and price builders' preliminaries including supervision, labour, and site-specific requirements Reviewing project plans, specifications and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements Obtain and review subcontractor quotes for all trade packages ensuring they align with project specifications. Participate in post-award handover meetings with the construction team, ensuring all information is transferred to the team and all aspects of the estimate are communicated effectively.
