Reporting to the Safety/Environment/Training Superintendent, you will continue to develop and implement appropriate risk assessment and management strategies for both safety and environment while growing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Role Overview The role of the Environmental Safety Coordinator is to reduce environmental impacts, ensuring procedures are compliant with Environmental legislation and that the changing needs of our customer bases are met.
You will maintain and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Environmental program by managing waste, energy consumption, and cost reduction projects.
Duties will include: Lead safety risk reduction activities on site. Involvement in safety audits, observations, critical risk inspections. Contractor Management and Task Supervision of contractors conducting site services and environmental and safety related activities on site. Assists in roll out of corporate safety compliance activities. Implementing strategies to prevent environmental impacts and coordinate waste reduction and removal processes on site. Conduct monthly Environmental Compliance Activities and reporting to maintain compliance. Oversee Environmental Incident investigations and ensure effective corrective action closeout. Lead Resource Sustainability projects to achieve cost savings through energy reduction and water management. You are a high performer with a clear understanding of requirements and community expectations.
A strong communicator who can take ownership of their work and work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
With a strong people and team focus, you will drive the open and transparent safety culture of the business.
Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Engineering/Sciences is desirable. Studying or completed Cert IV or diploma in safety. Relevant management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience in the management and implementation of Environmental legislative standards. Lead Auditor trained and Contractor Management experience preferred. Strong communication skills, influence and engage with all levels of the business.
