Greenfield transmissionGeneration and load connectionsStorage infrastructureAggregated DERClean mobility solutionsAs the Environment Advisor, you will ensure timely and effective connections to the transmission network in Victoria through the effective management of cultural heritage and environmental management requirements for AusNet's Connections Infrastructure projects. The Environmental Advisor will provide advice and expertise on the management of environmental and cultural heritage requirements to ensure the timely and effective connection to the transmission network for AusNet's Connections Infrastructure projects.
The role supports the delivery of projects to achieve best practice environmental outcomes during construction and includes critical technical decisions in these areas, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. With a 3/2 Hybrid split Office/WFH, this role can be based in Melbourne CBD and is part of the Development & Future Networks team. This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Provide technical advice in the assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts and input into the development of planning and environmental management strategies, documents, and procedures.Manage and monitor compliance with Cultural Heritage Management Plans, environmental approvals and management plans during site investigations and project delivery.Lead handover of planning and environmental approvals to delivery teams including inductions, workshops and compliance audits.Review and advise on environmental and cultural heritage matters, including matters relating to relevant environmental legislation.Assess environmental and cultural heritage risks associated with construction.Monitor and report on environmental compliance and management of risks.Work with the HSEQ, project delivery teams and consultants to facilitate and create structured environment risk and impact assessments, management plans, strategies, policies and procedures.Provide briefings to the Land Planning and Environment Manager, the leadership team on compliance breaches and status of mitigations.You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Planning or an environmentally related discipline.Construction induction training (white card) preferred, but not essential.3-5 years experience as an Environmental Planner or Environmental Compliance Officer.Demonstrated experience in environmental, cultural heritage and permit compliance.Demonstrated knowledge in the Victorian Planning Scheme and EES process.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Victorian and Federal environmental and heritage legislation including project approval process.Ability to translate technical information into recommendations.Experience in the management of environmental mitigation on construction sites.Preferred exposure to large-scale linear infrastructure projects.A real place to belong.
