The design team works together with the buying, garment tech & planning teams to create a collection of forward-thinking ranges engaging THE ICONIC customer.
We are currently looking for a Junior Designer/Designer to join our own brand Design Team.
Reporting into our Own Brand Design Manager, this role is essential in driving the conception and development of all product in your brand by always driving innovation & creativity with a customer centric focus.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a creative but commercially minded Designer who can translate trends into unique, contemporary designs.
About the role: Lead the design direction and create captivating collections in line with your brand/brands from start to finish.
Maintain a close link with manufacturers to ensure seamless handover of developments, making sure all tech packs submitted are accurate, completed and submitted in line with company timelines.
Communicate regularly with the Design Team to ensure any critical design issues or developments are highlighted and resolved when required.
Select, develop, and source fabrications, colours, trims etc.
in line with company standards.
Attend fit sessions and use technical ability to ensure best fit is achieved and approve final samples with GT.
Approve all details of final product in line with original design brief.
Understand the manufacturing structure of the supplier's business in order to recognise cost & manufacturing opportunities for every design submitted.
Participate in range planning meetings to ensure the range is balanced in styling, colour, and fabrications.
Understand and drive company-wide strategies and Objectives and Key Results.
What it takes: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Assistant Designer/Junior Designer role.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong trend forecasting skills with a commercial eye for fashion.
Ability to time manage workload in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop would be advantageous.
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
