Engineering Design Lead/Manager (Water Industry Experience Preferred)Sequana is a vibrant and growing project management consultancy providing strategic advisory and management services across the water, environment and energy sectors. As Sequana's Engineering Design Lead/Manager, you will play a leading role across multiple projects, defining the processes and activities to understand the technical requirements of our clients, ensuring that technical resources and advisors are coordinated, and deliverables are aligned with client needs and project objectives, exceeding our clients' expectations.
What you do Ensure successful delivery of design projects by overseeing all phases from concept to completion, including planning, design, execution, and close-out.Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Provide technical guidance and expertise in the water, environment, and energy sectors, ensuring the application of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives and industry best practices.Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.Support work programs to ensure that they are delivered to client expectations, timeframes, costs, and specifications.Work with a diverse and inclusive team who are responsible for the delivery, completion, and reporting of projects.Engage and establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Support a culture of delivery excellence through coaching and knowledge sharing with both client and Sequana colleagues.Identify improvement gaps and implement corrective measures.Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders and senior management.Who you are Candidates should possess:
Bachelor's degree or similar relevant qualification in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role within the water, environment, or energy sectors.Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering infrastructure projects.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.A consultancy or public sector background is preferred (but not essential).Comprehensive understanding and experience in the Water Sector.Strong experience in multi-disciplinary project delivery overseeing the planning, coordination, and monitoring of major engineering design projects.Thorough understanding of technical and industry standards applicable in the water and infrastructure delivery sectors.Sound understanding of integrated management systems encompassing quality, safety, and environmental aspects.Demonstrated and effective time management skills to achieve competing priorities.What it's like working at Sequana: Our culture - We have a wonderful team of brilliant high achievers built on a culture of empathy, collaboration, integrity, openness, and professional excellence.Award-winning - We are an award-winning company – we have won 'Great Place to Work' awards across Australia.Exciting & meaningful projects - Sequana is on an exciting growth journey.
