We're always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers - and for our people.About the role:The Energy Regulation Manager is pivotal in managing Origin's exposure to energy policy and regulation, ensuring alignment with Australia's evolving energy landscape.This role will drive policy development across key areas such as climate change, wholesale electricity / gas market design and broader strategic matters relating to the energy transition.Acting as a bridge between internal and external stakeholders, the role focuses on influencing regulatory change, minimizing risks and contribution to market reforms that support energy transition.Prepare and oversee the development of submissions and policy positions to the principal regulatory bodies in Australia's energy markets.Develop regulatory policy and strategies, in support of regulatory outcomes that are aligned with Origin's strategic objectives.Interpret and analyse the potential impacts of regulatory changes on Origin and the broader energy sector.Establish and maintain relationships with relevant senior internal and external stakeholders including from government, and regulatory bodies.Represent Origin at industry working groups and public forums.Monitor developments in the regulatory environment and keep internal stakeholders abreast of changes and emerging issues.Work with internal stakeholders to ascertain the business impact of regulatory changes.Monitor the external policy and regulatory environment and advise the business of potential issues, risks and opportunities.What will you bring?7+ years of significant proven experience in similar roles in the energy industryExperience in dealing with regulatory bodies such as AEMC, AEMO, AER, ACC and their consultation/decision making processes.Deep understanding of the workings of the regulatory landscape in the energy sector.Deep understanding of the wholesale electricity and gas markets in Australia; and issues related to the energy transition.Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly and tailor communications to the required audience.Critical thinking with the ability to connect the dots, taking a holistic approach to problem solving.Ability to develop persuasive economic and/or legal arguments that support Origin's commercial/strategic objectives and meet key public policy goals.Excellent time management skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.Ability to work to tight deadlines.So, why join us?Discounted Origin products benefits for employees, including Electrical, Gas and Internet offers!Hybrid working environment, opportunity to connect with your team in our CBD office while working from home 2/3 days a weekCompetitive salary + annual performance bonus + performance based reviewsOrigin 360 Electric Vehicles (EV) employee subscription offers a fantastic range of EVs, with flexible month-to-month plans and no lock-in contract.Free and confidential counselling for employees and family members.A great high energy team, that encourages interesting, rewarding, and engaging work!Origin - Where good change happensAt Origin, we're powered by people who believe in creating change.We are committed to fostering a diverse, gender equitable workforce, where everyone is welcome, and all applications are evaluated on merit and potential.
