Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne (hybrid), with 50% WFHFull-time permanent role with Suncorp's Employee Relations teamProvide proactive risk-based advice and support on complex people issuesSuncorp's Employee Relations team is responsible for providing timely and pragmatic advice on all employee relations matters, including support on escalated and complex people issues and initiatives. We're looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our high performing, collaborative team as a trusted advisor to the business.
What you'll do: Acting as an escalation point and providing coaching, guidance and support on complex case management and employment queries, including terminations, long term absenteeism and disputes.Managing employment related claims and representing Suncorp in the Fair Work Commission and related employment tribunals.Working across a broad range of employment matters, including enterprise agreement interpretation, legislative compliance, organisational change, complaints and investigations, workers' compensation claims, executive matters, and third party relationship management.Identifying and reporting on trends and emerging people risks, developing and reviewing policies for continuous improvement, and contributing to cross training and upskilling across advisory areas.Utilising our case management system to track and record all queries to ensure access to quality data from which to extract insights for our clients.What you'll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Law, Employee Relations or Human Resources (mandatory)5 years' experience in employment law or employee relations, with in-house experience (highly regarded)Collaborative and consultative approach, while also able to work autonomouslyExcellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including before a senior executive audienceProven ability to efficiently manage time, work to deadlines and deliver on competing priorities.What we can offer: A range of flexible working and leave options, including 20 weeks paid parental leave, 4 weeks paid secondary carer parental leave and unlimited paid emergency response leaveDiscounts and offers on a range of retail favourite stores as well as insurance productsGive back to our communities with payroll giving, donation matching and paid volunteer leaveInvest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programsPrioritise your work/life balance with our robust employee assistance program and dedicated employee councilAt Suncorp we believe we are our best when our workforce is as diverse, talented and passionate as the communities in which we live and operate, and where our people feel included, valued and connected.
