Emerald Carrying Company are currently seeking to appoint a full-time Management / Company Accountant to ensure accurate and timely reporting, compliance and system / process improvement.
This dynamic and multi-faceted role will be a part of a small team, supported by a Chief Financial Officer, to deliver accounting and financial outcomes and other tasks as required to meet the strategic objectives of the business.
This role will be based out of our Head Office in Lytton, Brisbane.
Work-From-Home options may be explored following successful completion of probationary period/s.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working as a key member within a small team, the successful candidate's accountabilities will include but not be limited to:
Preparation of monthly management accounts and their analysis Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts Preparation of end of year accounts and audit information Business process improvement, including system upgrades and automation Identification, development and implementation of profit enhancement initiatives Balance sheet account reconciliations Assisting in the management of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions Preparation of monthly / yearly BAS, Payroll Tax returns and Workcover lodgements Working with internal customers to provide guidance, analysis and assistance to develop their financial and business acumen Ad-hoc duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer About the person: The successful candidate will possess the following personal and professional attributes:
A minimum of 3 year's experience in a management / company accounting role (preferred) - Experience within the Commercial Accounting Sector would be held in high regard Australian recognised Business or Commerce Qualification (essential) Possess a CA/CPA qualification or be working towards obtaining this certification Well-developed verbal and written communication skills Strong IT skills, with advanced Word & Excel skills.
Experience with Pronto would be advantageous Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Contribute to a vibrant environment by being energetic, enthusiastic and engaged with a 'can-do' attitude The ideal candidate will demonstrate diligence, strong organisational skills, and an ability to meet tight deadlines.
Furthermore, a high degree of ownership, accountability, and resilience under pressure will be crucial.
