Seeking to leverage your experience in complex policy development, strategy and operations, and service system transformation?The Policy, Evidence and Practice Leadership Division, is delivering important reforms to improve the NDIS for people with disability. We are seeking experienced professionals from a range of backgrounds who are able to provide thought leadership, content expertise and rigorous policy analysis in the management of key strategic issues to improve the effectiveness of the NDIS.  The Division is responsible for delivering key Scheme reform initiatives such as the Assessment and Budgeting Initiative, the Participant Safeguarding Initiative and the Psychosocial Disability Initiative. The key duties of the position include: Where you can add value As a Director in the Policy, Evidence and Practice Leadership Division you will lead a multi-disciplinary and agile team to develop policy and deliver complex projects that have a strategic and operational significance to the NDIA. You will work closely with teams in the division, as well as internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Leading the management, preparation and coordination of complex Scheme policy development  Providing advice on strategic reforms and proposing improvements to existing policies.  Leading the engagement and co-design activities with a range of key stakeholders, including the disability community, to ensure that policy development is contemporary, relevant and evidence informed. Enough about us, let's talk about you We are looking for candidates from a range of professional backgrounds with a demonstrated ability to drive strategic change in complex operating environments. You will have the ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty with personal drive, sound judgement and integrity. Your experience and sound leadership skills will inspire your team members to strive for the best outcomes. You should have a deep understanding of the social context of disability, and a comprehensive knowledge of key disability issues. You should possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and excellent ability to consult and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship. Failure to do so may jeopardise your offer of employment. Dependent on the role the appropriate Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People check may be required as per State/Territory legislation. In addition to these checks, a Worker Screening Check issued by the relevant State/Territory worker screening unit will also be required for any role for which the normal duties are likely to require more than incidental contact with people with disability. Notes This role may be performed from any of the locations listed below, other locations and remote working arrangements may also be considered:- ACT - Braddon, Canberra or Tuggeranong NSW - Newcastle, Penrith, Surry Hills or Sydney QLD - Cairns, Mackay, Robina, Brisbane, Browns Plains or Rockhampton VIC - Ballarat, Dandenong, Richmond, Geelong, Melbourne, Shepparton, Waurn Ponds or Werribee WA - Geraldton, Midland or Perth SA - Adelaide, Mount Barker, Murray Bridge or Port Adelaide NT - Alice Springs or Darwin TAS – Hobart This position will be offered as ongoing or non-ongoing.  If the position is offered as non-ongoing, this will be for a specified term of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension of up to two years. Should a non-ongoing position become ongoing, then a merit list established through this selection process may be used to fill the vacancy on an ongoing basis. Getting to know the National Disability Insurance Agency The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community. This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need. This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.
