Are you enthusiastic about leading a highly skilled and diverse team, where individuals have the opportunity to learn and develop to deliver excellent results? We have an exciting leadership opportunity available in the Media Branch as a EL2 Director Media.

The Media Branch is part of the Strategic Communications Division. The branch is responsible for engaging with the community through media, social media, digital media and events.

The Media team builds and protects the NDIA's reputation with key stakeholders, including the Minister's office, by managing media relationships, responding to media enquiries and proactively promoting the success of the NDIS through key announcements, media spokespeople activity, individual stories of NDIS participants and Scheme outcomes.Where you can add value

The EL2 Director Media is responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Where required, you will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA's interests in cross-agency, inter-jurisdictional and other forums. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, including, but not limited to:Working across the Communications and Engagement Division and NDIA business areas, identifying reputational risk and develop communication strategies that manage critical risks.Identifying opportunities for developing tactical media, proactive media and public affairs strategies in support of NDIA's policies, programs and objectives and monitoring public debate on disability issues.Providing advice and problem solving for complex and issues-based media management and supporting the media team with navigating and responding appropriately.Providing guidance in media opportunities that elevate and maintain the Agency's profile and developing a program of recurring public relations thought leadership campaigns.Delivering a high-quality service for the Minister's Office and supporting the requirements of the Agency and government.Ensuring media operations are in place for supporting the 24-hour media cycle.Enough about us, let's talk about you

You will have demonstrated leadership experience and skills with an innovative approach that will inspire their team members to strive for the best outcomes. We are looking for individuals who will be organised, proactive, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment. You will have excellent communication and writing skills, the ability to work independently, and a passion for delivering high-quality work. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with external and internal stakeholders at all levels to drive positive business outcomes is pivotal to be successful in this role.

We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
