EL 2 - Director Media and Strategic Communications This role will lead a small, high-performing Communications Team supporting the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Commission's external and internal communications and engagements. This includes media for and on behalf of the Commissioner and the Commission itself.
You will undertake complex analysis and interpretation and apply significant judgement in decision-making relating to strategic communications and media for the Commission. As part of the leadership team, this role will also support the Commissioner in all public engagements, coordinate responses to reactive media and write content for media releases, speeches, presentations, online and digital assets, as well as overseeing the online presence of the Commission.
Our ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and high emotional intelligence with experience in communicating with diverse sets of audiences and stakeholders, with a particular focus on inclusive, accessible, supportive and trauma-informed communication and engagement methods. This role is suited to someone who can motivate and collaborate with others and can adapt and direct work in a dynamic environment.
This recruitment process is for a role with the Commission. The successful candidate will be employed by the Department of Social Services and placed on secondment to the Commission. Employment terms and conditions will be provided by the Department, with work duties assigned by the Commission.
