The Department
You'll be joining a recently formed, large Government department working across a range of responses to high priority Government initiatives and topics.
The Role
You will be joining a large and growing Communication and Media branch and be responsible for managing the departments social media strategy and presence and media support services for the Department for the Ministers' office.
You will play a critical role in supporting 3 busy and high-profile ministerial offices departmental executive through the delivery of quality media products and advice.
Role Responsibilities
Overseeing and drafting of high-quality media products including media releases, talking points, media enquiry responses and media opportunity calendars Overseeing and providing high-quality issues management and proactive media advice Developing strong working relationships with ministerial media advisers Developing strong working relationships with program areas and providing them with strategic media and issues management advice Liaising with journalists After hours duty phone management Supervising staff and acting as team manager when required.
Your Skills And Experience
To be considered you must have media management experience. Experience in Government or a large organisation is essential for this position.
It goes without saying that you must have demonstrated written skills and the ability to lead a team to success.
