Position Summary
The Business and Technology Group delivers the corporate functions which support the organisation by providing Human Resources (HR), finance, ICT, and accommodation services.
The People and Facilities Unit (PFU) provides internal client service and support for recruitment, learning and development, work health and safety, workplace relations, workforce reporting, staff performance, reception, and facilities.
We are seeking an HR professional to lead a small team in delivering the required outcomes for our Work Health & Safety and Workplace Diversity functions. These outcomes include upskilling the team, case management, improving our processes, and leading relevant HR projects. While experience in WHS is preferred, experience in other aspects of HR will also be highly valued.
Selection Criteria
Our ideal candidate will have most or all of the following skills and knowledge:
Demonstrated experience in, and sound knowledge of, Work Health & Safety or Workplace Diversity (or the ability to quickly acquire the required knowledge).
The ability to incorporate knowledge and experience into the continuous improvement of agency-specific HR initiatives, policies, and processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide forthright advice and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
Ability to foster productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent leadership qualities including the ability to lead a small high-performing team to achieve outcomes.
Eligibility
Be an Australian citizen.
Undergo any required pre-employment checks, including a police records check.
Obtain and maintain a valid Security Clearance if required by the institute.
A probationary period of six (6) months will apply to any new engagement to the APS.
