The Role Specific responsibilities include:

Responsible for Command level corporate management and to lead the conformance and performance of Defence non-financial governance and policy within JMPU.
Develop the frameworks that outline the JMPU governance arrangements.
Ensure that JMPU's governance and risk management practices are aligned with Divisional guidance to ensure consistency with products.
Provide advice and guidance on governance and risk management to support JMPU's objectives and manage its risks.
Coordination of JMPU's input to Division corporate performance and risk reporting.
Develop and implement governance and risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policy, and standards.
Identify and assess key risks to JMPU and develop strategies to mitigate or manage those risks.
Establish and maintain effective governance and risk management structures, including committees, boards, and other relevant bodies.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of JMPU's governance and risk management practices, and make recommendations for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with leading practices in governance and risk management and apply this knowledge to continuously improve JMPU's practices.
Manage and lead a team of professionals to deliver business planning and performance management, financial management, work health and safety; and workforce management.

About our Team The Joint Military Police Unit (JMPU) conducts specialist military policing from 26 Defence base locations, nationwide and overseas. The JMPU also offers support to the civilian police and the general community in Defence related matters. These positions will give the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a records management team which is integrated within a Military Police environment. Within JMPU, the Chief of Staff (COS) team is responsible for providing Provost Marshal-ADF functional and strategic support to the JMPU Headquarters.
The COS team incorporates the Business Management team, Work Health and Safety team, governance functionality and the Executive Assistant. The COS team ensures all JMPU administrative requirements are managed both internally and externally to JMPU Headquarters. In addition, the COS team is reactive to the Provost Marshal's ever-changing commitments and tempo.

Ability to gain an understanding of the JMPU, JSSD and JCG strategic direction, functions and relevant legislation and apply them to achieve efficient and desired outcomes.
Consultation and collaboration skills, including the ability to contribute to team plans, strategies and goals.
