Your future role: Alstom has a permanent opening for an EHS & Rail Safety Advisor to join our team in the Gold Coast site operations in QLD. Reporting to the EHS & Rail Safety Manager, you will be accountable for assisting in the management of business environment, health and rail safety risks and engaging with the workforce to foster a high-performance rail safety culture. With your proven experience, you will perform a critical role in sustaining the Australian Transport business's EHS performance by implementing and maintaining initiatives, codes of practice, policies and risk management strategies.
We'll look to you for: Deploying and maintaining procedures and tools in line with Transport and EHS Management System.Ensuring risk assessments are undertaken and that appropriate measures to control risks are defined.Maintaining appropriate records and documentation of the site while monitoring compliance.Implementing and delivering training plans and programs.Ensuring that the Safety Management System is well maintained and in line with required standards.Reviewing and testing the various emergency plans and delivering Safety induction training.Preventing accidents/incidents and, if occurring, writing thorough reports, recording the incident, and ensuring this has been investigated and analysed.Assisting in the maintenance of an annual EHS and Rail Safety audit program as part of the overall Compliance Audit Program and preparation of key reports for the Project.All about you: Certificate IV or Diploma in health and safety coupled with an environmental management qualification is desired.Proven experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of risk management tools.Rail or heavy industry project experience in field-based roles implementing safety management systems.Sound knowledge of local legal requirements.Initiative, drive and resilience, with the ability to influence people at all levels within the operations.Strong knowledge of safe working systems, rules and procedures.Have a valid Rail Industry Worker Card.Things you'll enjoy: Free gym membership.Purchase annual leave and novated leasing schemes.Independent and confidential wellbeing support for you and your family (Employee Assistance Performance).Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.Stability, challenges and a long-term career enabling you to steer your progression in whatever direction you choose.Benefit from a competitive base pay rate with additional allowances.Important to note: As a global business, we're an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 70+ countries we operate in.
