We value and seek the knowledge of: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplesPeople with a lived/living experience of substance useAbout the role Part time position - 15 hours per week The Drug and Alcohol Counsellor provides counselling and psychosocial group work to individuals on community supervision orders within Corrections' offices, who are also affected by substance use and other related concerns such as mental health.
Client Therapy and Support: Providing counselling that utilises evidence-based therapeutic modalities for the achievement of client identified goalsProviding harm reduction and other health promotion servicesUtilising alcohol and drug and mental health assessmentsEnsuring client data is entered to a high standardFacilitating and/or co-facilitating psychosocial education and support groupsWhat we're looking for: Previous experience in a similar roleTertiary qualification (e.g. Cert IV or above) in a relevant fieldAbility to engage clients on community supervision orders (Parole and Probation)Ability to achieve a successful Criminal History Check + Admin Form 27A (Application to Visit) - as required by Queensland Corrective ServicesIntermediate competency in the use of Microsoft and other software packagesCurrent Queensland driver's licence (or equivalent)Salary and Benefits: Hourly rate - $43.08Flexible work arrangements to support work life balanceGenerous salary packaging options up to $15,900 + $2,650 meals and entertainmentAdditional paid leave - up to 6 days per annumGreat workplace culture, supportive managers, and team committed to purposeInterested in applying?
