VM Drilling area Western Australian Drilling Contractor providing Drilling Services to Resource and Mining Companies within the Goldfields Region and throughout Western Australia.The RoleThis is a field service and workshop role, where you will be based out of our modern Kalgoorlie-Boulder workshop, with a 14:7 roster (day shift only).The key requirements of the role are:Performing routine maintenance and major component change outs in the workshopCompleting breakdown repairs for rigs and vehicles on site where required.Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air systemsMajor repairs and servicing of a modern fleet of Atlas Copco/Epiroc - ROC L8 and D65 rigs and late model Hino 500, Hino 300 support equipmentAttending site emergency breakdowns, including completing repairs in a timely manner, minimising costs to the client and ensuring productivity targets are still metProvide field service support and guidance to operations personnel to reduce downtime in the fieldUndertake necessary risk and pre-task assessments and ensure all documentation and reporting is completed accurately and in a timely mannerThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing all forms of vehicles and machinery relating to efficient operation of drilling equipment and associated ancillary equipment.The successful candidate will perform the work on the Company's assets in a safe, planned and effective manner. As a key team member, you will work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager, ensuring planning priorities are achieved.About youWe are happy to consider both Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Perth-based candidates, with FIFO and various roster options available.Ideally you will have been qualified for at least 3 years with previous Field Service experience, in particular working autonomously in remote areas servicing drill rigs and support equipment in the field.We are also willing to consider experienced plant mechanics that are interested in learning and want to gain experience in the drilling industry.Stand out candidates will also hold a current WA HR Drivers Licence, High Risk Work Licence and have experience with Atlas Copco and Epiroc rigs.Certificate III Mechanical Trade CertificateCurrent police clearance (or able to obtain)Working at Heights (or willing to obtain)First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment medical in addition to any legislatively required or Client based medicals and/or clearance.
