About this Position: The Drainage and Water Operator plays a key role in supporting the Urban Drains, Water & Wastewater maintenance team in supervising minor works and helping ensure the efficient and effective completion of operations and maintenance tasks.
We are looking for someone who has the skills, capability and willingness to solve problems by applying standards and evaluating alternatives.
This is a permanent role working alongside a hardworking and professional team.
You'll be working in a full time 38 hour per week role that will primarily be based at our Wyrallah Road Depot in East Lismore.

What we trust you to deliver: Carry out operational and maintenance tasks on Council's water and wastewater infrastructure as directed Correctly interpret and construct from technical standards, specifications, plans, and diagrams A strong commitment towards Work, Health and Safety systems by ensuring risk assessments and hazard identification are undertaken and appropriate controls put in place Undertake detailed condition assessments of urban drains, water and wastewater infrastructure including pressure mains, gravity mains, services, manholes & pits, hydrants, valves, meters and the like Undertake traffic management, including selecting and implementing traffic control plans Plan works ahead, understand and work towards team goals and communicate plans and goals for better understanding within the team Participate as team player, supporting others, contributing in a cooperative and helpful manner    What you will need to be successful: General Construction Induction Card (White Card) Experience and understanding of the operation and maintenance of urban drains, water & wastewater infrastructure Ability to work an on-call roster outside of normal working hours Be a safety champion and someone who makes safety a priority for yourself and the team Desirable: Certificate III in Water Operations, Civil Construction and/or equivalent experience Current Safe Work near Powerlines Training Traffic Controller training Implement a Traffic Control Training Plan training Confined Spaces Certificate of Competency Excavator and Backhoe (Class LE & LB) Licence Current HR Drivers Licence Full position description: Click here  Full Time: 76 hours a fortnight  Salary: A salary range from $1,155.40 (Grade 7 Entry) per week + superannuation + on-call allowance Closing date: Monday 18 November 2024 at 9.00am  Contact: If you want to know more about this opportunity, please contact Blake Brewer-Charles, Coordinator Urban Drains, Water & Wastewater, on 0437 810 483.
