The Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth Healthcare lead the research for early diagnosis and treatment options to improve survival for people living with pancreatic cancer. They are the only specialist centre in Australia exclusively dedicated to pancreatic disease.
There is now a rare opportunity to join this organisation, working for Epworth Medical Foundation as Donor Relations Manager to help continue this groundbreaking work.
The role
The Donor Relations Manager for Jreissati Pancreatic Centre at Epworth is a pivotal role, responsible for the identification of bespoke philanthropic opportunities in addition to nurturing and strengthening existing relationships.
As a senior member of the philanthropic team, this role will engage and collaborate with the Epworth Medical Foundation staff, in addition to the Centre Director, Research Program Manager, Pancreatic Cancer Nurses and the Donor Relations team.
The Donor Relations Manager will formulate and execute a donor engagement program that fosters a culture of gratitude and identifies major gifts and bequests prospects whilst identifying new fundraising channels to pursue.
In addition to this, the role will be responsible for the following:
Proactively engage with the Centre to understand the projects and needs in order to support them with funding through multiple channels Translate the funding requirements into bespoke and tailored proposals for donors In collaboration with the Centre, understand the priorities for funding needs and respond accordingly Develop a communication and stewardship strategy to provide updates on the Centre's achievements Build customer relations with patients and their families
Skills and experience
The Donor Relations Manager will have a strong desire to create and deliver funding opportunities through strong relationship management with major donors, trusts and foundations and bequestors.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Extensive experience in senior philanthropic roles, and the ability to engage with major donors and communities to support the cause A strong track record of identifying and securing funding for campaigns and ongoing research Ideally a qualification in a relevant tertiary field or the Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and a natural aptitude to nurture relationships that benefit the organisation A desire to grow philanthropic income to support research and the communities which benefit from positive outcomes of programs You will be self-motivated and passionate about supporting patients and their families through the journey
