A job to be proud of: St John WA have an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Steam as a District Operations Manager on a permanent full-time basis supporting our Northwest District.
You'll be part of a highly skilled, committed and collaborative team that together provide crucial and highly valued services to the rest of the organisation.
The District Operations Manager is accountable for the effective leadership, budget, people management and performance of ambulance stations and teams within a designated district.

This position will work Monday to Friday reporting into the General Manager – Rural & Remote.
Please note that the FIFO opportunity will involve significant travel, with approximately 2-3 weeks away from home per month. What you'll do: Maintain responsibility of operational resources, including vehicles, equipment, and personnel (paid and unpaid) to ensure optimal deployment and utilisation. Work collaboratively with Resource Planning to develop resource plans and budgets to support operational objectives and strategic priorities. Participate in annual budgeting processes and manage allocated budget and resources within set parameters, ensuring resources across the district are meeting operational requirements. Lead change programs and projects/initiatives related to the district and prepare business cases for consideration of the Executive team. Participate in emergency management, preparedness and response operations and planning for major events. Contribute to robust, practical business continuity and emergency management plans that respond to identified needs within the district and ensure seamless service delivery. Inform planning to meet changing demands, ensuring effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues. Ensure asset plans outlining ambulance service centre locations will meet future community and response time needs. Build effective relationships with external stakeholders, including local committees, health providers, emergency services, etc. Where appropriate/relevant, work closely with the volunteer team to deliver key volunteering objectives and initiatives. Partner with internal teams to build the capability of the district workforce through recruitment programs, reward and retention programs, capability uplifts and skills improvement. Be active within the district and visible to all team members, i.e., spend time with crews on the road to understand their challenges and seek to improve their work environment. What you'll need: Extensive senior management experience in healthcare, clinical services, emergency services, or operational/resource management, with a proven ability to delegate operational plans and execute executive strategies. Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality community services, consistently meeting performance targets, and driving continuous improvement. Strong leadership and communication skills, adept at inspiring and motivating teams across multiple locations. Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and influence high levels of clinical and service delivery outcomes. Expertise in healthcare service delivery regulations, standards, and best practices with the ability to interpret legislative requirements and address complex needs. Experience in resource planning, budget management, and performance evaluation to ensure efficient operations. Skilled in leading diverse workforces and coordinating volunteers across geographically diverse areas, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Contemporary understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements in emergency services. Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, applying sound judgment to complex information and business processes. Relevant tertiary qualifications in paramedicine, health specific discipline, management, leadership, or related area and/ or equivalent work experience (desirable). Class C Western Australian drivers' licence or equivalent What's in it for you?
