Distribution Power Worker (Cable Jointer/Line Worker)Joining our team means you'll be part of something that really matters. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Distribution Power Worker (Cable Jointer/Line Worker) to join our high performing team located in Karratha. Reporting to the Works Delivery Manager, the primary function is to carry out capital, maintenance, and customer funded projects safely, efficiently, and professionally, throughout Horizon Power's Pilbara footprint.
In this role, you'll have the chance to grow your career by gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies like Stand Alone Power Systems (SPS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You'll also have opportunities for professional development, including training in testing and fault finding, and involvement in all aspects of a fully integrated Power Company. This is a permanent full-time position.
Your role will include: Installing, maintaining, and repairing underground and overhead power cables and linesPerforming jointing and termination of high and low voltage cablesConducting inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standardsTroubleshooting and resolving issues related to power distribution systemsCollaborating with other team members to complete projects efficiently and safelyAdhering to all safety protocols and regulationsYou will have: Proven experience as a Cable Jointer/Line Worker or similar roleCertificate III Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) - Distribution Powerline qualification or Australian Line Worker Trade qualification equivalentHR Drivers Licence as a minimum (and be prepared to transfer to a WA Heavy Vehicle Licence) and the ability to travel to different job sitesWhite CardHigh Risk Licences: EWP/WP, Forklift (FL), Dogman (DG), Rigging (RB)Current First Aid/Senior First Aid and CPRHigh Voltage Glove and Barrier QualificationHigh Voltage / Low Voltage Cable Jointing QualificationC2 Crane HRWLLow Voltage & High Voltage Switching qualifications and experienceOur employees enjoy real rewards and recognition including: 5 weeks annual leaveAdditional 3 days of Private Leave13 weeks long service leave after 7 years of continuous servicePaid parental leave for primary and secondary caregiversSpecial family leave of up to 10 days paid, non-cumulativeProfessional Development opportunitiesOur workplace culture is created through every interaction, every experience and everything we do.Across our organisation, we recognise and reward people and offer work that works with you.
