Home Care Worker (Disability)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Home Care Worker (Disability) to join our Disability Support team on a Casual role based in Tamworth NSW.
About the Role
The Disability Support Worker (Home Care) is responsible for providing needs-based services for people with disability by ensuring a person-centred framework is adopted aiming at maximising the living, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. This is a Supported Independent Living accommodation-based role.
On a day-to-day basis, this role will be responsible for:

Assist participants to develop options, have choices and make well-grounded decisions.
Ensure relevant participant documentation and records are kept up to date.
Communicate with other support workers and line manager regarding participant's cultural and linguistic needs.
Ensure participant individual plans are adhered to with regard to individual goals, development of skills, enhancement of independence, behaviour management.
Ensure Participants homes are kept in a clean, hygienic and homely condition according to the individual needs and wishes and in accordance with company standards.
Follow the guidance of a senior staff member or line manager to ensure medication is administered appropriately.
Ensure participants personal care needs, as identified in each individual participant plan or similar, are met. This includes but is not limited to participant movement, toileting, meal assistance, personal grooming.
Engage in education and development of participants to assist their independence with regard to personal care.
Ensure participant's privacy is adhered to at all times. Care must be taken not to discuss concerns or details with or near others who are not entitled to the information.
Actively participate in work in accordance with rosters.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:

A genuine commitment to supporting our participants in their home and within the community.
Flexibility to work rosters.
Previous experience in a relevant industry or service preferred.
Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
Current certificate on Administer and monitor medications preferred.
Eligibility to work in Australia.
