We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to join our Gold Coast team. The Disability Support Worker is responsible for implementing support services aimed at maximising the living, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. All service delivery must be in line with the Policies and Procedures of Right at Home Care and the NDIS Framework.
Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Manual handling: Aid clients with mobility challenges through proper manual handling techniques and assisting with exercises. Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities. Domestic Duties: Assist with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean-living environment. Behavioural Management: Handle clients with high behaviours, employing appropriate strategies to ensure their safety and well-being, including the use of restrictive practices. Provide direct care assistance: to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the coordinator. Ensure completion of appropriate documentation: Relevant information on support provided is to be recorded in client notes. Work with clients, family/carers and other professionals: to support the client's individual goals. Services: generally between the hours of 6am-6pm Monday to Friday. What you will need: Australian Federal Police Clearance. Current CPR / First Aid Certificate. NDIS Workers Screening Check. Current Australian Driver's Licence.
