Disability Support Worker - Armidale

The Role:

Our participant is a 41-year-old female who has a Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury due to a motorbike accident. She also has Bipolar Disorder.

This role is on a casual, on-going basis and will commence ASAP.

A quick meet and greet with our participant will be required prior to commencement.

Requirements:

Due to the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have prior experience working with complex care clients - which includes experience with:

Personal careBowel care (Peristeen Bowel Therapy - Training Provided, although enema experience is ideal)Skin checks (pressure injuries)Manual handling (hoisting)Domestic tasksCatheter care Current Roster:

Monday - Sunday AM Routine Shifts

Staff 1: 7:00AM - 11:00AM (2:1 assist)

Staff 2: 8:00AM - 11:00AM (2:1 assist)

Pay Rates Day Shift - $38.75 p/hAfternoon Shift - $42.63 p/hSaturday Shift - $54.25 p/hSunday Shift - $69.75 p/hKey Responsibilities: Personal care dutiesAssistance with bowel therapy (Peristeen - training will be provided)Hoisting/transfersDaily skin checksCatheter ManagementPressure wound managementAssistance with domestic tasksAssistance with meal preparationAssistance with daily Health & Rehab exercisesCommunity access + rehab appointments Skills & Experiences: Experience with spinal cord injuries / brain injury or other high complex care participantsExperience with catheter managementExperience with bowel therapy OR willing to learnPrior experience with pressure injuriesHoist / transfersAustralian Driver License & motor vehicleCurrent National Police ClearanceCurrent Working with Children's CheckFirst Aid & CPR CertificateNDIS Worker Orientation ModuleNDIS Worker Screening Check
