Directors, People and Culture (Identified position) We are looking for authentic and enthusiastic leaders to fill several People and Culture positions in the Organisation Design Branch within our People and Communications Division. Organisation Design Branch delivers strategic people and culture initiatives to help us achieve our vision to build an inclusive, curious, collaborative, adaptable and high-performing workforce. We deliver services and projects across a range of areas including workforce reporting and intelligence, workforce planning, workforce strategy, leadership and capability, and diversity and inclusion.
We have a current vacancy for the Director, Diversity and Inclusion role. We will also be establishing a merit pool to fill multiple vacancies across the next 18 months.
The key duties of the position include: The Australian Public Service (APS) Work Level Standards provide information on the responsibilities and duties Executive Level 2 (EL2) employees may undertake. As Director, People and Culture your duties and responsibilities will include:
Provide strategic leadership, including setting direction, developing plans, managing risks, guiding the development of complex briefs and ensuring effective execution of our People Strategy and Action Plans. Lead and coach a team to deliver key people and culture initiatives and programs, and assume responsibility for the management of complex workforce management matters. Ensure intersectional diversity and cultural safety is embedded across all people and culture strategies, initiatives and practices. Work with a high level of autonomy under broad direction to deliver high quality outcomes. Proactively look up and out at the broader environment to anticipate needs, build relationships, share knowledge across the APS, and drive the implementation of whole of Government workforce reforms across the department. Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, negotiating and influencing outcomes to align strategic priorities with our people and culture vision. Model the Secretaries Charter of Leadership behaviours; be dynamic, be respectful, have integrity, value others and empower people. Contribute to branch leadership including work planning, resource management and aligning priorities with business outcomes. Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
