The Director, Regional Sentence Management Services will provide operational leadership, advice and direction of regional sentence management services.
Provide advice to the General Manager Sentence Management Services; Assistant Commissioner, Specialist Operations; and Assistant Commissioners within Custodial Operations on operational issues relevant to sentence management services.Lead and manage operational staff within the Sentence Management Services.Lead the effective implementation of processes to recruit the right people; to actively support and manage performance; and to build workforce capacity and capability.Develop, monitor, assess and evaluate allocation and utilisation of resources to support delivery of sentence management services.Ensure appropriate management of workload and work practices of sentence management staff.Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of employees in accordance with the responsibilities under the Public Service Act.Direct the utilisation of resources, training and professional development associated with sentence management services.Promote the activities of Sentence Management Services and enhance relationships with key stakeholders.Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with operational managers and staff at all levels of the organisation.Exercise and/or ensure appropriate delegated decision making for classification, placement, and transfers in accordance with legislative criteria.Apply detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and their application within the field of sentence management.Represent the Agency in community forums to optimise offender management consistent with community expectations.Manage compliance with corporate governance, budgetary and human resources, workplace health and safety management practices.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
