Director - Placements
Full-time PermanentDetails: The Director of Placements leads a team that provides placement and referral coordination and support for children and young people who are not able to continue residing with their families. The team ensures the most appropriate out of home care options are identified and accessed in a timely manner while ensuring risks are identified and managed.
The position is responsible for maintaining professional relationships with the out of home care sector and on-going development of quality placements. This is achieved by providing strong leadership and ensuring the Placements Team delivers outcomes that support a continuum of care whilst meeting our statutory obligations. This position is also responsible for family finding and targeted recruitment for foster carers for specific placements.
Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Mandatory: At least 5 years practice experience working with children, young people and their carers or families is essential.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or a related discipline, are desirable but not essential.Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.As the role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable for this position.Note: A merit pool may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
