We are seeking a seasoned Director of Operations - Strategy and New Ventures to join our leadership team at Minor Hotels. This strategic role will work closely with our Directors of Operations and Cluster General Managers to lead the development and execution of initiatives that drive operational efficiency and excellence across our hotel portfolio. The ideal candidate will be an influential leader, playing a critical role in aligning organisational goals with customer satisfaction and the optimal use of resources, while identifying and implementing high-level solutions to complex organisational challenges.
Key Responsibilities Include: Lead the development and execution of strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with senior leadership to address key organisational and operational challenges, recommending strategic solutions that enhance long-term business performance. Evaluate and redesign systems and structures at a strategic level to increase efficiency and organisational effectiveness. Engage with senior management and staff to review current operations, identify inefficiencies, and drive transformative changes that enhance workflow and resource management. Provide high-level guidance on organisational structuring, process improvements, and system enhancements to maximise efficiency. Oversee the analysis of workflows, organisational structures, and job functions, preparing comprehensive reports and strategic proposals to improve operational performance. Develop and present strategic recommendations for procedural revisions, structuring, and optimised resource allocation, focusing on scalability for new properties in the pipeline. Partner with Directors of Operations to develop and implement procedures for new property acquisitions, ensuring the seamless integration of operational standards and efficiencies into new properties. Take a lead role in driving the implementation of approved recommendations, managing change initiatives, issuing revised procedural guidelines, and ensuring organisational alignment. Continuously monitor operational performance, advising senior leadership on deviations from standards and identifying further opportunities for efficiency and growth, particularly in relation to property expansion. Minimum Requirements: Extensive experience in a senior leadership role focused on business strategy, operational improvement, and organisational development. Proven track record of leading complex organisational change initiatives and driving efficiency across large-scale operations, particularly within acquisitions or business expansion. Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align operational changes with long-term business goals. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience influencing and working closely with executive leadership teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead large-scale projects, and inspire change across the organisation.
