Are you ready to make a real impact on the future of Queensland's local communities? QTC is looking for a dynamic leader to spearhead our project and advisory work across a diverse range of urban, regional, remote, and indigenous councils. Tackle big issues like financial sustainability and asset management while supporting councils with their finance, risk and governance needs.
As Director you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive program of project and advisory work. You'll lead the Local Government Project & Advisory team to achieve positive outcomes for Queensland's communities. As a trusted advisor you will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Queensland Government, local government, and education sectors.

from government, local council, university sectors, or consultingwith deep expertise in local government, universities (or other bodies) or financial and risk advisorywho is passionate about making a difference in local government and the education sectorYou will: Lead and build capability across the Local Government Projects & Advisory team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.Develop and deliver the projects & advisory components of the service delivery strategy for each sector, driving impactful change.Take charge of leading projects and capability uplift work for each sector, ensuring they align with strategic goals.Ensure projects and capability uplift combine to deliver a cohesive and strategic program that meets the needs of local councils and government.Act as a Trusted Advisor, providing independent, strategic advice on a range of complex and sensitive policy and operational matters, supporting the Executive Director, Local Government and Strategic Operations in effective business management.Advise and support Executive Leaders and relevant teams on stakeholder engagement and strategic solution requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.Build and manage key relationships, networks, and partnerships, promoting a positive public image for QTC and enhancing collaboration across the sector.You will bring: Proven experience in developing and improving existing processes, standards, and systems.Ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.Experience from prior roles providing input into long term strategies with deep expertise from local government, universities (or other bodies), consulting, financial or risk advisory.Ability to leverage experience and/or in-depth understanding of leading practices in the industry/area of specialty.Competence with analyses of complex and multi-dimensional problems and offer solutions requiring broad-based consideration.Dynamic leadership experience in complex corporate and executive environments, to influence outcomes with strong exposure in policy environments.At Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC), our Advisory Division is on a mission to drive financial sustainability and operational excellence across Queensland's Government Departments, Local Governments and Government Owned Corporations.
