The Director of the Policy and Legislation team is responsible for delivering advice on policy and legislation related to waste and resource recovery initiatives in Queensland. This includes delivering a number of waste related strategies (eg Queensland's Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy) and associated action plans (e.g. Organics Action Plan, Plastic Pollution Reduction Plan etc). The Director is also responsible for ensuring waste related legislation (e.g. the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011) remains fit for purpose and effective in delivering its objectives. You will work closely with various stakeholders and collaborate across multiple levels of government to deliver on a more circular economy.
