Management (Information & Communication Technology)About the Aged Care Quality and Safety CommissionThe Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. The role of the Commission is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care.The Commission is the national end-to-end regulator of aged care services and the primary point of contact for consumers and providers in relation to quality and safety. Our vision is to support a world-class aged care system driven by empowered consumers who enjoy the best possible quality of life.We aim to build confidence and trust in aged care, empower consumers, promote best practice service provision, promote quality standards and hold providers to account for their performance against the expected standards of care.About the TeamThe purpose of the ICT Operations Section within the Digital Group is to optimise the delivery of Digital and ICT services across the Commission, by focusing on robust service management practices and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and user satisfaction.About the RoleThe Director ICT Operations will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of the Commission's digital infrastructure and systems through best practices in monitoring, maintenance, and incident management. Additionally, they will be involved in managing and optimising the procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of digital assets and resources essential for the Commission's operations by maintaining accurate inventories, tracking usage, and optimising asset utilisation.Position DutiesInfrastructure Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of the Commission's ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and data centres. Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of infrastructure components to support the delivery of ICT services to users.System Administration: Manage the configuration, deployment, and administration of ICT systems and applications used by the Commission. Ensure systems are properly configured, patched, and updated to maintain security and compliance with regulatory requirements.Performance Optimisation: Identify opportunities to optimise the performance and efficiency of ICT infrastructure and systems. Implement monitoring tools and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, optimise resource utilisation, and improve overall system performance.Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors who provide cloud or external services to the Commission. Ensure vendors meet service level agreements (SLAs) and deliver high-quality services that meet the Commission's requirements and expectations.Incident Response and Problem Management: Lead the response to ICT incidents and problems, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations. Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to address incidents effectively and restore service quickly.Continuity Planning: Develop and maintain ICT continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the resilience and availability of critical systems and services in the event of disruptions or disasters.Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria):Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in ICT operations, infrastructure management, and security management within large, complex organisations, preferably in the public sector.Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, and data centres, and their role in supporting business operations.Proven track record of successfully managing vendors and external service providers to deliver high-quality services and meet SLAs.Excellent knowledge of ICT security principles, practices, and technologies.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage ICT operations teams, including setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving performance improvement initiatives.Relevant tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Additional certifications in ICT operations, security management, or project management are highly desirable.Position Notes:Salary offered will be between $136,307 - $161,381 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.An ongoing position is available.Only candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply. Appointment is conditional on successfully completing a national police check and obtaining a baseline security clearance.Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term.
