You will also take a lead role within the broader Commercial Partnerships team, building and maintaining a highly positive team culture comprised of public servants, contractors and external consultants and advisors, growing technical expertise, ensuring governance requirements are met, and maintaining effective communication and relationships with your internal and external stakeholders.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide leadership and direction to the Commercial Partnerships team, establishing team and project plans, managing resources (people, financial and physical), and achieving established goals and objectives in relation to managing various work streams.
• Work with Translink passenger transport service providers and various stakeholders to manage passenger transport service contracts and service delivery successfully and effectively.
• Lead complex contract management, stakeholder management and negotiations, consulting and engaging with legal, financial and other parties as required.
• Identify strategic risks and opportunities for improvement in the delivery of transport services across Queensland, contributing to the broader Commercial Partnerships team influencing legislation, policy frameworks, funding approaches and strategic sourcing strategies as required to shape change.
• Review and interpret legislative requirements to ensure procurement/contract management policies and practices comply with the intent of the legislation.
• Management functions including business planning, financial management, governance and other responsibilities as legislated in the Public Service Act 2008 to ensure delivery of a responsive, effective and efficient services to the community and the Government
• Build a cohesive and high performing team characterised by teamwork, partnering, strong morale and a focus on achieving results. Contribute to a highly engaged and capable workforce and leadership team through positive workplace culture and values alignment.
• Other accountabilities and tasks as reasonably directed.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• It is a condition of employment for all recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
• If invited to interview, and you are not a current permanent Public Servant, you are required to provide evidence of citizenship or working visa. This information will not be given to a third party without your consent.
Requirements of the role
• Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and application of contract management principles, ideally within a transport setting.
• Demonstrated record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation with outstanding leadership ability, flexibility and resilience.
• You will have extensive executive level stakeholder management experience.
