The Domestic and Family Violence Support Practitioner will be the first point of contact for victims who require domestic and family violence or sexual violence support as part of our Safe Connections program providing support for survivors of domestic violence in Toowoomba and surrounding areas. In this role practitioners work in collaboration with clients to develop individual support plans incorporating strength and resiliency-based principles. You will be central to a client's journey through the service system acting as service navigators and key conduits for information sharing.
Employment Term: Fulltime Permanent 76hrs per fortnight
Location: Toowoomba, Qld
Remuneration: SCHADS Level 5 $97,719 + 11.5% Super + $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging.
About the program: Safe Connections Toowoomba is a dynamic support program dedicated to guiding members of the LGBTQA+ community who've experienced domestic and family violence (DFV) from a place of crisis to a place of safety. Whether the violence is recent or in the past, and whether it's from family or a partner, we're here to provide personalised, compassionate support. Our services include case management, navigating resources, safety planning, emergency assistance applications, psychoeducation, and counselling when needed.
Our team works closely with each individual to identify their needs and connect them with the right support systems. We're also here to accompany people to appointments—whether with the police, Centrelink, or court—to offer guidance and reassurance. Our holistic approach centres around the unique journey of each person, with options for support extending to family and friends, should the person request it. At Safe Connections Toowoomba, we're committed to empowering people to rebuild their lives in a way that feels safe and supported.
