Our national treatment team has been engaged in a number of notable projects including the upgrade of Coolum STP, amplification of Cronulla WWTP, Wollongong WWTP, Happy Valley WTP upgrades, Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant, and Kangaroo Island Desalination Plants.
We are currently recruiting for ourSydney office, seeking an experiencedDesign Managerwith proven experience in delivering WTP and WWTP projects.
We're seeking water treatment professionals with a can-do attitude, a consultative approach, and the ability to prioritize and lead project teams.

What you'll doDesign management/project management of complex Water Treatment projectsManage design teams in large Water Treatment projectsBe accountable for leading the delivery of high-quality design delivery on projects.Work collaboratively with the Project Manager to manage the overall delivery of designs to time, budget and quality and guide project delivery to achieve high levels of client satisfaction.Manage Engineering governance processes (design reviews, change management, request for information, validation and verification, etc., related to the design.
)Deploy risk management principles & methodologies into project systems and processes.Seek design team resources for each project.Foster and engage a high-performing workforce, with a focus on mentoring, training and development.Work in partnership with other design organisations in Alliance or JV, and interfacing with contractors.Prepare design fee estimates for each project's "tender design phase" and the "delivery phase".Maintain and foster relationships with design teams and client.About youYou're likely to have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
MIEAust or IChemE equivalent, CPEng, and RPEQ.Experience in the Australian water industry, ideally in an engineering consultancy with a focus on water utilities/water treatment.Demonstrated experience in the project/design management of water infrastructure projects.Project management qualifications/accreditation would be highly regarded.Experience with plant commissioning would be an asset.Technical skills across a broad range of areas within water and/or wastewater treatment/process disciplines.Strong technical writing skills are imperative, as is the ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of stakeholders.Ability to submit technical reports to a high standard requiring minimal correction and provide final review of project reports.A positive and proactive attitude with the ability to get involved and lead others, while contributing to a vibrant team.About WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
