You'll join a diverse and inclusive team contributing across more than 100 unique professions and trades.What's the Role: The Design Engineer for our Mining Mobile Plant - Rail division will be based in Newcastle and will assist in creating innovative, technically sound, cost-effective solutions to meet and exceed customer requirements. Utilizing your engineering knowledge, methods, and tools, you will plan, coordinate, and execute engineering tasks/projects in line with Bradken Mining Mobile Plant's business plan. You will have a naturally collaborative style of working and will build customer and stakeholder relationships that facilitate their involvement in the testing and validation of new products, solutions, and services to provide Bradken with a market advantage. You will utilize your attention to detail to check drawings to ensure drawing standards have been adhered to and engineering requirements are captured in full, while also controlling and issuing all technical documents required by manufacturing and sales. You are a problem solver who will assist with product failure investigations and provide feedback and opportunities for improvement of CAD model and drafting checklists in line with internal NX standards. As a data-driven and detail-oriented engineer, you will conduct analyses using hand calculations, FEA, MBD, and DEM.Key Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary education in engineering or related discipline
Experience with FEA, CAD models, and drawings
Experience in the Mining or heavy fabrication industry will be well-regarded
Proficiency in the use of CAD (NX) including 3D modelling and 2D drafting
