Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project.
We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.
Purpose of the Role:
Support the Construction Director in leading the Construction department.
Lead the team by working closely with the Construction Director.
Coordinate the Area Construction Managers and track works as per project schedule and allocated budget, within the department.
Generate project management plans, coordinate with project departments, calculate risks, maintain production schedules, set standards and objectives for different departments, and oversee operations to ensure efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field White Card Experience:
11 years' experience working in the Construction Industry in a similar role Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other similar projects Problem-solving abilities Sound knowledge of project operations Knowledge of performance evaluation Understanding of optimization of operations & standards Exceptional communication & interpersonal abilities Ability to supervise team members and work closely with safety and other departments to control and maintain project safety standards Demonstrate a positive 'can-do' attitude Ability to lead and manage teams Sound knowledge of civil construction materials/services Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations Process-oriented, able to analyze complex issues Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across different levels Sound interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritize tasks under pressure Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills Strong initiative and proactive nature Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Well-developed time management skills High attention to detail Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word Ability to learn and use different software systems such as E7 Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Optimize & oversee operations to ensure efficiency with cost allocation Ensure compliance with company's policies & operational guidelines Evaluate performance using key metrics Assist upper management in decisions related to work Report to senior executives regarding progress and issues Maintain knowledge in federal, state, and local compliance issues Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes and standards for a project Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency Develop and maintain business relationships with workers, manufacturers, dealers, project managers, equipment managers, and subcontractors Identify and resolve any IR/ER issues and escalate serious issues to the Construction Manager and IR Manager in a timely and appropriate manner Develop a teamwork culture so that the site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams Manage direct reports to ensure they are competent to perform their roles effectively and hold them accountable to project performance measures The above listed authorities & responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
