As the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), you will shape and lead the strategic direction of child protection services, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children.
This role is pivotal in aligning with the government's strategic priorities and responding to the recommendations from the Child Protection Systems Royal Commission.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will oversee a significant and impactful portfolio, including regional and metropolitan service hubs, residential care facilities, and central corporate functions.
Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering best practice child protection services, driving service delivery reforms, and ensuring effective management of both strategic and operational policies in a high-risk environment.
Success in this role will depend on your ability to lead a diverse and highly skilled team, develop, and implement child protection policies, and foster strong relationships with government, non-government organisations, and other key stakeholders.
About You
To excel in this role, you will bring:
Extensive senior leadership experience within the public sector, with a proven track record of driving successful system and service delivery reforms.
Strategic leadership skills to manage complex and high-stakes environments effectively.
Deep understanding of child protection issues and services within South Australia, with a commitment to improving outcomes for children, particularly Aboriginal children, and young people.
Proven ability to lead and influence change, fostering strong relationships with government, non-government organisations, and other key stakeholders.
A dedication to driving organisational excellence, with a focus on managing and developing high-performing teams.
Join us in leading the way to a safer future for South Australia's children.
To Apply
If you are a values-based executive who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children in South Australia, we encourage you to apply.
Please submit your resume along with a 2-page cover letter addressing the Essential Technical Knowledge/Expertise requirements as outlined in the role description.
Our workplace reflects the diverse communities we serve.
We encourage applications from all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities.
