Job DescriptionAbout the Role As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Social Health Counsellor will contribute to providing access and coordination to comprehensive support services to clients and their families, with the aim to achieve personal wellbeing as part of a holistic model of care. Staff will actively participate in team activities and contribute to a flourishing workplace culture that promotes the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long-standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
Duties Provide interventions using techniques and methodologies of proven effectiveness from a sound evidence base.Appropriately respond to critical incidents, providing wellbeing first aid to patients.Conduct wellbeing assessments for evaluating risks, identifying client needs and guiding treatment delivery plans.Provide group interventions in meeting mental health consumers' needs.Ensure standards are maintained, in accordance with case management and record keeping processes.Provide referrals and coordination between different sites or programs, to facilitate the delivery of mental health and social needs services to patients.Liaise with other community organisations and government agencies for the purposes of information gathering, referral, networking and promoting ATSICHS Brisbane services.Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, facilitating cooperation, trust and respect, valuing differences and diversity and guiding, mentoring and focusing on the development of staff.Culture Enjoy working in an organisation that makes a difference in the community. Annual salary $84,080 per annum.11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).Permanent Full TimeAccess to Salary packaging.Contribute to the bettering of indigenous health.COVID-19 Requirement Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine is encouraged.Desired Skills and ExperienceRequired Bachelor qualification in either Psychology/Social Work/Human Services/Behavioural Science or Counselling.Demonstrated ability to apply a high level of clinical judgement and to prepare and present accurate reports relating to the outcome assessment and mental health wellbeing intervention of a client.Ability to work with a culturally and socially diverse group of clients, and to apply a culturally responsive framework to guide interventions, with the support of staff and management.Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the application of a variety of efficacious, scientifically-based mental health wellbeing treatment approaches for clients whose presenting problems include identity and stolen generational issues, suicidal ideation/behaviour and self-harm, drug and/or alcohol abuse, long-term responses to trauma, and behavioural problems.Demonstrated ability to administer mental health wellbeing assessments.Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to contribute to the development of creative and innovative programs of mental health wellbeing.Demonstrated experience in overseeing and coordinating case management processes and procedures.A willingness to travel across the ATSICHS Brisbane region of services and work across different sites.A willingness to provide therapeutic supports and engagement to patients outside of a clinic environment.National Police Clearance.Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.Working with Disability Card (Yellow NDIS Card) or be eligible to apply.Preferred Development and delivery of educational and/or wellbeing group programs.How to apply If this sounds like you, please submit your application by following the links on the recruitment page.
