About the role: We are seeking a Council Services Manager (CSM) for the below locations:
RaminginingAs a CSM you will lead and strategically manage the Council Services unit in the community to deliver efficient and effective services aligned with the East Arnhem Regional Council's goals. The CSM will foster community engagement, drive operational excellence, and nurture team development to achieve superior service delivery, environmental sustainability, and cultural responsiveness within the community.
Our ideal candidate will have: Tertiary qualifications, or substantial experience in effective local service delivery, leadership and operations management.Strong interpersonal skills, including high-level written and oral communication skills.Facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and managerial skills, with an ability to relate appropriately to staff at all levels in a cross-cultural environment.Previous experience managing people/diverse teams, with demonstrated ability to effectively mentor, develop, support and motivate staff in a flexible and changing work environment.High-level office administration skills, including the use of Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and an ability to learn new software.Demonstrated experience in maintaining a safe and effective working environment.A current C Class Drivers Licence, with the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.The following would also be viewed favourably: Previous experience living and/or working in a remote First Nations community within Australia.Heavy Rigid (HR), Backhoe and Skid Steer Loader license, or the ability to obtain.Trade or tertiary qualifications or substantive industry experience in a related discipline (i.e. environment management, mechanic, horticulture, plant operations, and/or training).Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural workplace.Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.All employment with EARC is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check and ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Level 8 – Salary $108,274 - $114,868 (excluding super and locality allowance) plus an additional Council Services Manager Allowance of $7,000 per year.
You will also benefit from 6 weeks Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.
