About the Opportunity The Coordinator Governance & Risk is responsible for supporting the Manager in all facets of governance and risk management activities across Council. The Coordinator Governance and Risk will make a significant contribution to ensuring that Council has an effective corporate governance and risk management framework and other documentation that complies with legislative requirements and promotes business excellence. The role will drive proactive and innovative approaches in the Governance and Risk space that continuously improves Councils risk culture.
The role will support and collaborate with the business units of Council to achieve compliance and continuous improvement in risk management and Council's legislative & governance obligations.
What you need to be successful: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within local government or 4 years of experience in a commensurate role in the public or private sectorCurrent Drivers LicenceA Current Satisfactory National Criminal History CheckExperience in developing policies and maintaining policy registersExperience in administering delegations and maintaining delegation registersKnowledge of risk management principles and how they can be embedded in a workplaceA relevant Tertiary QualificationMembership of a relevant Professional OrganisationExperience using governance and risk management software systemsFurther information: A copy of the position description and tips on applying can be found on this page, or for more information, please contact Sandra Gordon on 1300 087 004.
