NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Albury NSW4 days ago, from Department of Communities and Justice NSWBased in Wagga Wagga or Albury offices, with flexible work/hybrid options.Clerk Grade 7/8; salary relative to experience from $106,025 - $117,363 per annum plus super + annual leave loading.We're seeking a community-focused Coordination Officer who can support the coordination of preparedness and recovery services across local communities.
You will use your networking and stakeholder engagement skills to develop strong relationships with local government and communities in their efforts to prepare, prevent, respond to, and recover from disasters.About the RoleIn this exciting opportunity within our Regional Delivery team, you will:Support Local and Regional Recovery Programs: Contribute to the successful implementation of recovery programs and initiatives, ensuring that services and benefits effectively reach disaster-affected communities and individuals.Enhance Disaster Planning and Preparedness: Collaborate on the design and execution of local and regional projects that bolster disaster planning and preparedness, aligning with whole-of-government strategies to address both immediate and long-term needs of NSW communities.Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and emerging issues, providing valuable insights to support project development and process improvement.Stakeholder Communication: Engage with key partners, not-for-profit organizations, and industry stakeholders.
Coordinate local and regional working groups, committees, and consultations to foster information exchange and collaborative engagement.Project Management: Oversee various aspects of project implementation, including developing and monitoring project plans, briefs, and status updates.
Support assigned projects within established deadlines and quality standards, employing robust project management processes to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.Please note: This role requires travel across the region or NSW state to support recovery operations.
You must hold a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel.About YouTo excel in this role, you will need:Proven experience working as part of a team to deliver major programs, projects, or government initiatives, ideally in a local or regional context.Strong understanding of disaster management and recovery processes, combined with effective project management and coordination skills.A tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience that demonstrates your capability in this field.Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and facilitate smooth project execution.Proficiency in research and analysis to support the development and improvement of key projects and processes.About the AgencyThe NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
