Join our growing Enterprise Risk team in this pivotal second-line role reporting in and working closely with the General Manager, Enterprise Risk.What You'll Do (key responsibilities):Build, recruit, develop and lead a team of high performing assurance and control specialists and analysts.Design and implement a centralised control testing and risk oversight program from the 2nd line.Manage the Assurance and Control Modules in HESTA's governance, risk & compliance system, and manage relationships third parties, including the internal Auditor and other Assurance providers.Maintain a rolling 3 year Integrated Assurance Roadmap.Develop and maintain an effective assurance and control framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Partner and collaborate with key business teams to verify that appropriate controls and mitigation strategies are in place.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the Assurance and Control frameworks, and their operationalisation, to senior management and relevant stakeholders, including Executives and Board.Apply Design Thinking on how control testing can be re-imagined ie adoption of AI or other tools and integrate this into HESTAs assurance program.About you (experience and qualifications):Extensive experience as a Senior Risk, Assurance and Control Advisor/Lead/Manager preferably within financial services and/or superannuation fund industriesKnowledge of Design Thinking / Agile methodology and project delivery experienceSystem design experience and exposure to GRC Solutions, Technology products or similarLeadership experienceAbility to navigate complex organisational structures and work effectively with cross functional teams.Excellent communication skills, presence and gravitasEffective stakeholder relationship and vendor managementTertiary qualifications in a business, commerce, law, risk and compliance management or related disciplineBenefits that matter and make a difference for our employeesLeave for those moments that matter: an additional 6 days of leave at the end of year, up to 6 days paid volunteer leave, gender neutral paid parental leave of 20 weeks, Gender Affirmation leave, reproductive health and wellbeing leave, Cultural and Ceremonial leave.
