About the position The Community Living Supports for Refugees (CLS-R) is a unique community-based program that provides support for newly arrived people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds who are experiencing psychological distress, mental ill health, and impaired functioning to live and participate in the community in the way that they want to. The Community Engagement Officer is responsible for facilitating and enhancing community engagement initiatives within the program. This position plays a crucial role in promoting community integration, building relationships, and creating a supportive environment for refugees. Based in Wollongong, this is a part-time (30 hours per week), fixed term position to 30 June 2025 We are looking for someone with: Tertiary qualifications in social work, community development, international relations, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in coordinating community engagement activities, preferably in a multicultural or refugee support context. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and the principles of community development and social inclusion. Why join GPH?
